Brakes on 83'
I didn't see a spot to put this so i'll ask here. I've driven this thing a round the last couple days trying to see what i need to do to get it runnin well. When i hit the brakes hard the back left tire locks ups. I also missed an exit yesterday on the highway. The brakes might need some real work or i was just driving to fast. What makes the back left lock up like that. Is there a way I can adjust the pressure or something?
Thanks,
Bret

But also, it could be an issue with the front brakes, a seized caliper etc...causing more braking action to be applied to the rear.
It shouldn't cost an arm and a leg for all new brakes if you do it yourself.

You might have a binding e-brake lever or cable, or even a warped drum. I'd go ahead and just tear into the whole rear braking. Replace the wheel cylinders, shoes, new hardware, and take the drums into somewhere and have 'em measured and turned, or replace 'em.
