Buy the "kit" up front--assortment of pads. Think Juztang has it for $199.

I bought mine from Auto Geek for $119, but ended up spending out the wazzu for
different pads.

Yeah, I did the same thing. I bought my 7336 (same as the 7424 but different counter weight) at Lowe's when they still carried them. I bought the flex-plate, pads, and polish/wax/compounds later. You get everything you need with the kit Justin sells. Whether you go with Optimum or Poorboys, you're still getting some great products. Buy a PC and you'll love it. Its a great tool that you can do so much with.

My 67 mustang was non-clearcoat that I always hand polished. I tried the machines but it just went quicker with 10 cotten rags and some elbow grease. You would think that using the machines was quicker but the constant stopping and starting and inability to follow all the little curves of the body drove me to go manual. So one clean rag in the back pocket to wipe off the polish and one with polish in hand doing wax on wax off. Def a shoulder workout though.

That sounds like l960's technology--did it that way (during my younger years) to my 66 GTO, 67 Firebird, 69 Roadrunner, 67 Vette, etc.

Trust me--and 35+ years of experience--PC w/foam pads.

Again, buy the kit with the pads--I just spent another $50(total of almost $175) on pads.

I especially like using the white pad for liquid wax application (wet it with detailer first), and the
gray and blue pads misted with detailer.
