Painting some exterior stuff.
My friend took his flat black spoiler off of his car,so i put it on mine for a while. i really like the way it looks against the color of my car (white). Well i plan on doing the hood scoop, spoiler, area between the taillights, and the fuel door. Any suggestions to prep work? should i use a medium grit paper, prime it,use a fine grit, then base coat it? any comments greatly appreciated!
sand to the metal, ull need a circular sander, my experience with belt sanders is that they scratch up the metal... prime it with a dark grey, sand with 800 grit, prime again, sand, and prime again. then do your painting, make sure your in a booth cuz lots of dust gets around, when you do your black paint dont sand inbetween coats. then do a clear coat, make sure you dont let it run, but before it dries completly do a few more coats... then wetsand with 1500-2000 grit, then use some rubbing compound and it should look sweet..
