ok well i need to do a paint job on my car and i wanted to keep the same color its a green color...but i wanted to know where i could get the same factory paint or just go up to the hardware store and get the paint there and put flacks in it...well i am going to put some metalic flakes in it to give it more of a sparkle...

you're painting it yourself? id have it done professionally, and yea the metallic clear coat is where my flakes are. it is a stock color, atlantic blue metallic clear. it looks like a dark blue in shade and shines in the sun. i would just decode your vin # and find the paint color then have a paint/body shop take over from there.

You have to go to an autobody paint supply store. Not a hardware store. Way different..are you going to attemp to paint it your self????

yes we are going to do it areselves...my dad and me...we have all the tools and he has done it before...we havn't really talked about it but i just wanted to find out about it more...i just wanted to do some research...plus i would have it done by a shop but i don't have the money to do that...so i'm going to do it myself...

no offense but the only reason i said that is because you wanted to know if you could get the paint at a hardware store....just sounded a little funny... but hey, goodluck, i am in the process of doing the samething. I am painting my 90 GT

no i understand that...i don't know **** about it....but my dad does and we havn't gone over any of it...so i 'm like out there trying to find my way around in the dark....

yea he can basicly do anything with vehicals...he use to be a macanic and he has had some of the ****tist vehicals and done some great things with it...had a charger(truck) that he put 400,000 miles (hard miles) and it still ran but when it died they pulled the plugs and there nothing left to it

If you check out your sticker decal on the inside driver door, it lists the VIN number there, and a breakdown of the letters/numbers and what they are for.

Since when does a hardware store carry automobile paint that'll match anybody's car? Usually one has to go to the dealership or a paint shop because they have all the right paint codes or can color match what you want.
