Default A good dash/console cleaner??

Whats the best cleaner to use for the dash board. I heard that if you use commercial cleaners/protectant likeArmorall you have to keep using them orthe dash WILL dryand crack. Is that true? Once you use it you have to keep using it b/c it'll dry the dash and crack it if its not being reapplied. I was told the best thing to use is a damp clothe with water. B/c it will clean the dash and keep it moist and it doesnt have chemicals that cleaners do which can damage it. Whats the best cleaner to use and what do you use?

El falso. I've been using Armorall on both of my Stangs, and nothing happened so far. I don't re-apply it that often, either. My dad's been using it on every car to ever be in our garage since before I can remember and nothing has ever happened. I wouldn't worry.

+1 for Justins Silk Shine product. I used it at a show 3 weeks ago and my dash/interior trim is still looking sweet I let two of my club members use it and they will be switching to it. Buy the stuff from him, you will not be disappointed.

Armour all is fine if you ask me. One other thing that works well are the Armor All leather cleaner wipes. Believe it or not they leave a good shine, and they also include a conditioner to protect against drying and cracking!

Armor All is good for the average person and for daily drivers - but I'm sure you think of yourself and your 'Stang as "above average"

I used Armor All for MANY years and agree with what you say, but the Silk Shine (and other comparable "higher end" professional detailer products) leave an equal shine, but are less greasy to the touch and thus don't collect as much dust. Plus they spread on more than Armor All (use less product) and as for the Silk Shine - lasts MUCH longer.

^^what about protection...personally the shine isnt the biggest factor for me..its the protection...i've heard of a dash dressing that has a SPF rating, which one is that?

^^ Has UV protection and popular with boaters so you know it must hold up ^^
