Default Problems with Porter Cable 7424?

I am thinking of getting a PC 7424 but I was on the Autopia forum and there was a post about people asking about unusual noise problems. Anyone have problems? - The person on the post said the PC he just bought was making a lot of noise - others said they had the same problem. Some asked if they had installed a washer... Is this unit noisy - how would I tell if it was making a normal noise or if it was a defect?I have never seen or heard one before and am now hesitating until I get some feedback on this issue here.

Thanks for any comments.

I've sold 100's of Porter Cables and have never had a complaint about them. The noise a lot of people are talking about is normal. I've been using the same Porter Cable for over 4 years and it is still running strong. This is the best polisher you can get for the money and quality.

Yeah I read that earlier. I think the guy that posted might actually have something wrong. It does make quite a bit of noise and the plastic shroud is known to vibrate also making noise. None of this effects performance or the quality of the machine.

Maybe some members on here that have bought Porter Cables can chime in, because I know there are a lot on here!

I assure you, there is nothing to worry about bud!

Thanks Justin - just got concerned when I saw this. I'm sure it is a great product and had only heard good things until this. Glad to know you have had so many positive experiences. I guess it is possible to get a defective unit of anything - seems like this might be the case here.

Also really appreciate your offer to help and all your answers to my posts - I will take you up on it. You seem to have great products and excellent feedback on this forum. Would not hesitate to order from you.

I've had mine for about a year now. Still going strong. No issues what so ever. Justin sells some nice quality products. Believe me.
