Default Window Tinting

i am getting my windows tinted soon and i was wondering if anyone had any problems tinting the upper part of the back windshield with the dot **** on it. the guy doing the tinting said there is nothing you could do about it, it wont look that good. there has to be something to make it look good. if anyone has any input on this please feel free to tell me what should do.

also if anyone has any pics of this that would be greatly appreciated.....thanks

The guy obviously doesn't know what he's talking about. My friend had the shop shave down the glass or something and tinting over the dots perfectly fine. It won't look crappy if it's done right.

Most shops wont even touch the dot matrix, they'll just tint the rest of the window, but it depends on where your getting it done at. The guy that did mine painted over the dot matrix so you cant see it. You just have to go around asking how they do it. Mine looks really good because its tinted the whole way, and you cant see the dots only black. I wouldnt have anyone shave off the dot matrix unless you trusted them because they may not do it right.

Sorry I dont know how to load images : (

mine was tinted and the tint wouldnt stick to the dots and came off but i took it back and my tint guy put some type of liquid on it and they have stuck ever since then and looks perfect. the liquid smelled like fingernail polish remover and was in a small bottle like polish would come in but i dont see how that would make it stick, prob wasnt remover but sure did smell like it....

The dot matrix isn't all that hard to tint. You just really have to spend a good amount of time working the tint over it.

When I tinted the strip on my windshield, it took a good 20 minutes of working the tint on the dot matrix. The tint dried to it perfectly.

i have a few white dots on my rear windshield and around the border too. It isnt bad though. I'm thinking of getting a plain black piece of vinyl 6" to go across the top of the rear windshield. that way it will look cleaner because the tiny white dots that i do have are spotty and scattered.

I've seen some done that looked good and some done that didn't look good at all. It all depends on who does it. Like it was stated before, some shops don't even tint it. I would just have them stop at the dot matrix thing and then put a vinyl strip on the back. It looks just as good.

Here's mine....

thanks for all of the input...im still not sure what i am going to do yet...i dont want to go that dark with the tint either maybe 30%...so i would assume that the vinyl would only come in real dark and it wouldnt match up good if i did this....so keep the advice coming
thanks
