painting prep questions
hey all.
about half of my front bumper is scratched to hell and i decided instead of covering it with a bra id repaint it. so i got some paint mixed and found a buddy who knows how to paint and has a nice spray gun. he said he'd paint it for free as long as i did the prepwork. so my questions are can i tape off the half of the bumper thats still good or should i repaint everything. and whats some good grit sizes to start and finish sanding with. i know it'll take a couple hours just for the sanding. another question is when i got the paint mixed i got some enamel paint and the guy said i dont need clear with this type and it'll still come out good. is this true? or should i go get some clear? thanks for all the help guys!

1. paint the whole bumper.
2. acrylic does not require clear.
3. dont sand acrylic
4. if you want it done right make sure your buddy has a booth and if not then you should be prepaired for anything that might come up. good luck with it
