Default paint question

Now, I am an idiot, just get that out there first lol.

My paint, when looking at it from an angle with the sunlight, has little ridges in it. You cant feel them, so I am wondering if my clear coat is starting to wear out? I did just wax it the other day....so not sure if I am just an idiot worrying about nothing or what.

if im not mistaken, what you are talking about is called orange peel. if your car has been repainted, then it may not have been the best job in the world and it has some orange peel in it.

Ridges? If it's peel, then wet sand and buff it out. With a day's work, you can get the whole car to look like glass.

I am not sure if it has been repainted. Though, with 115k miles on it, the paint doesnt look to bad. I bought the car as is. Any idea how to check stock paint? Through VIN number or something of the sort?
