Stop Light/ traffic Cameras
Yea in some states the ticket is sent to the owner of the vehicle no matter who was driving. But what if you dont have any plates and all they have is a picture of you? that would be another problem. All I know is that im driving good from now on especially if my friend ends up getting the ticket!
If you don't have plates they couldn't do anything. There's no way to trace a car based off those cameras, they can't get a picture of the VIN. A picture of the driver does nothing, in police world, a blown stoplight is not a big deal.
Florida law states that if you enter the intersection b4 the light turns red, you are legal.... don't have to exit before it turns red, how the fugg would you know if the light is above or behind you??? makes no sense! Anywho, only one camera around my area that I know of and thats at the toll for the mid-bay bridge. They have "sunpass" lane. (prepaid toll wth the elctronitc lil box on your windsheild) They say if you blow through that without a sunpass it will take your pic. They also said the gate wont come up! My buddy had the ***** to try it in his truck, barreled through at about 40 mph.. the gate sprang up just barely missing the bumper and hood and he never got a ticket. He does it all the time now... Never gotten the first ticket. Beats the hell outta paying the $2.50 I suppose!

Here's how the camera's work. After the light turns red, a circuit in the intersection is energized. When you drive over this, you break the circuit, then the camera takes the picture. Depending on where you live, the camera's can take multiple views of the vehicle, both front and back. If they only get your license plate, then you can fight it since they cannot prove who was driving. It's pointless to run a red light anyways, your only putting the rest of us at risk for your stupidity.

I was visiting my uncle, and we were doing about 70 on his porshe, and went though the toll gate with his prepaid thing. The gate was probably 2 inches from the windshield before it shot upa s we went though. That was some crazy driving casue those toll passes arent wide. I was also driving in my rental, and ran a tool gate (didnt have money with me) and the buzzer went off indicateing i ran the toll, but i never did get a ticket, and my uncle says the dont enforce the toll cameras in texas the much. So i guess its hit or miss with getting the ticket
I ran a toll in New Jersey once. It was one that you drop the 35 cents into a basket, but the basket was covered over when I got there, so I just went through...there was no gate or anything. A couple weeks later they mailed me a bill for 20 dollars fine plus 35 cents for the toll. They included a copy of the picture of my car they took, which only showed the license plate and a flash bulbed front window. I mailed them a check for 35 cents and said I'd have paid the toll if I was able, and never heard back from them. All in all it cost us more in postage than it was worth.
