New taillight mod

New taillight mod
Well, I went ahead and tinted my taillights and then wired them so that all 3 vertical lense light up when you brake. I think it looks cooler. I'm posting before and after pictures, as well as a direct comparison of the tinted tails versus stock tails. It's not a huge difference, but I think it looks better overall without blacking them out, and the brake lights don't seem to be affected much.

Looks ok, kind of makes your tailights look dull, not as shiney as stock, also looks like you got a burned out bulb on the pass side. But on a black car i think it matched pretty good, Nice stang bro, and a nice do it yourself mod...you should post a how to on that, i know some people might would like to know how.

The passenger side bulb isn't burned out in that picture. On stock taillights, only the outer 2 vertical lenses light up. I rewired the new lights to light up all 3, which is shown on the left side of that picture.
Now both new taillights are in, and all the lenses light up. The above picture was just a comparison shot.
I still need to get some plastic polish and wax on the taillights, and then they'll be shiny.

Instead of really messing with the wiring, I went to a local salvage yard and got a couple of sockets from a wrecked '99. I just spliced the wires from those harnesses into the corresponding wires for the outer 2 lenses, and then they all worked. Pretty easy, actually.

They do look great... I think i'm gonna do the three light brakes along with the sequential turn signal to mine. The tink looks good but dull.. you may want to add a clear coat and then use some sort of plastic polish (Novus makes a great one) to realy get the outer plastic to shine.
