2003 exhaust
what type of exhaust would you think would give me more power and a throatier sound.i think i will probably go with flowmaster but which type.by the way i have a 2003 4.6
You have several options.

Magnaflow

Dynomax

Flowmaster

Bassani...etc etc

General consensus around these boards say Bassani & Magnaflow. From minor research I've done, Magnaflow is pretty impressive. I haven't been able to find useful unformation from Bassani yet..

Flowmaster will give the best sound, magnaflow will give better performance...

as far as bassani is concerned... they're just too damn expensive for me to try...

I like magnaflow. I tried it on Dan's advice, and I won't ever go back to flowmaster now.

How do you like the sound? Quiet when you want..loud when you want

Doesn't sound like the other 4 billion GT's on the road now does it?

That's why Flowmaster gets tons of negative attention because several of their setup's have flowed slightly better than restrictive stock exhausts right?

Quick suggestion: Go to www.google.com search for "Flowmaster sucks" "Magnaflow sucks" "Dynomax sucks". Take a look at who gets slammed for lackluster performance & drone, and take a look who gets slammed for...nothing!

Yeah i dont really know, until each of us has had both the mags and flows on our car, we probably cant talk. But i bet that mag is a little bit better in the performance depot, however even though a lot of stangs sound the same, the sound of mine and the feeling i get, however close to someone elses sound, is fine by me.
I'm not slamming the sound of flowmasters, I think they sound good. And nothing is better than liking the sound of your own car, am I right??

But when you start comparing systems & manufacturers, most people I talk with don't have kind things to say about Flowmaster, along with the information I've looked up

Infact, a shop here that does custom exhaust installations, Flowmaster was the only system he would sell, until these other manufacturers gained popularity and he only sells Magnaflow & Dynomax now..

Interesting subject here... I myself have always heard of flowmaster to be the best performance/sounding exhaust out there. I have heard of all the others, though I haven't tried them all personally. I have heard some of the others though, on other people's cars, and here's what I found. Now, I know it all depends on what system you get, what mufflers you get, etc., but I didn't like the sound of magnaflow at all on a 2003 Cobra that I went to look at for sale. At open throttle, sure, you can hear it, but until it was open completely, it was no different from the stock exhaust. I would want to be heard a little even at idle! And especially from a casual take off.But again, it could be the system he had. But the sound quality wasn't too great either. Another 2003 Cobra I went to look at had Basani exhaust, and the sound quality of that was great. Much better than the Magnaflow, but still, nothing SOUNDED as good as flowmasters. Flowmasters, to me, just delivers a much better sounding exhaust. Honestly, I think it's all personal preference, but at least now you know mine.
ok you are all wrong the best sounding and flowing muffler is spintech. they have sound clips online too www.spintechmufflers.com
