What should you use to remove an old coat of was for claying or re-waxing or applying stripes? Dawn dishwashing liquid? If so, so you use it full strength or diluted?

Wash your car with DAWN dishwashing soap. That will take the wax right off. Don`t use it for regular carwashing though, unless you want to wax your car every week
