Default removing swirl marks

I have a black 93 hatchback that has had a half-a$$ed buff job done to it by a previous owner. What is thebest way toget rid of the swirls?I'm not looking to make it into a show car but I do want it to look decent.

I have access to a dewalt buffer but I'm am not experienced with it and I don't want to do anymore damage. I would consider buying an orbital if necessary. I don't care if it takes me a week to do it by hand either. The car rarely gets driven. Just sits in the garage most of the time.

Most likely you are going to need a machine polisher to fix what you are talking about. I wouldn't recommend using the Dewalt since you are not experienced with it, you can do a lot of damage quick.

I would highly recommend getting the Porter Cable polisher. With this machine you can get awesome results without having to worry about hurting your paint, it just take a little longer to get these results with the PC. I carry Porter Cable kits with the pads and polishes you will need all ina kit. Feel free to contact me at 217-304-7294 or you can check out these kits on my website at www.obsessivedetail.com !

I've been debating getting one of the porter cable orbital for a while now, I guess now I have a more motivation. What types of polishes or buffing compound should I be looking for to use with it?

You can't go wrong with the Poorboys or Optimum polishes/swirl removers. Both work excellent, the Optimum is higher but comes in a larger 32 oz. bottle. I actually have PC kits that has everything you need to get started plus the Optimum or Poorboys swirl removers. Here is a link. http://www.obsessivedetail.com/Buffer.html Just scroll down to the bottom for the package deals. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

What Dewalt? A random orbital or high speed? The Ultimate Detailing Machine is really good buffer that is fairly new on the market. My personal favorite is the Cyclo but it is more costly.

Our Danase Swirl Abolishers where designed to be used by hand or random orbital buffer. They break down very nice using hand or machine and I am positive you will be 100% satisifed with the outcome.
