Default Does anyone else have a leaking trunk?

When I wash my car water always leaks into the trunk lid and the slowly drips out from underneath the license plate and leaves really nasty water marks. Do i just need to replace the weatherstripping around the lid? Is there a way to fix the leak without weatherstripping (I'm poor so free is best)?

thats not caused by your trunk leaking i dont think. that is just water built up in the channels around the top of the trunk and then flowing out the back. thats why i like to either open my trunk and dry in there or use a blower to get the water out after i wash it.

yeah, you can usually see the water kinda puddled up in those channels and when you take off it all rushes back and down on the bumper. i always get out and spray some quick detail on it and wipe it off if there is still some water/dirt on it.

if you want to avoid water streaks completely try the optimum no rinse you can was your car in a fraction of the time and you dont have to use a hose
