the only difference between the 7424 and the 7336 is i think the 7336 has a longer cord and they charge you more for that, haha

i use my PC with an extension cord all the time and it works great for me

im not too familiar with the other machine, but i got my PC a couple of weeks ago, and i couldnt be happier - it's so easy to use and the results are AWESOME

plus theres a TON of how to: videos online, you can watch those while you're waiting for it to arrive and it really cuts the learning curve down quite a bit.

it's very safe too and has a ton of uses

well, you don't really need all that extra power - the only reason i could see you needing it is if you're doing multipul cars every day

like the artical says, the PC is the industry standard.

it's a trusted brand, known for its quality and presiscion. the unit is pretty quiet, too

if you get more power and start using the machine at 7-9 RPMs then that only opens the door for more troubles, and everything will mess up that much quicker

also, you can get the 7424 for less money with more items

i have the porter cable and love it i have seen a few people on here with the other and they love that i picked the porter cable because that is what juztang sells and it is a popular brand

with higher RPMs you take the chance of burning your paint more than one that has a little lower like the porter cable

and like bill said if yoyu are doing multiple cars a day then yes a higher RPM may be better to get the finish you want sooner but it doesn seem like you would do a couple cars a day

Or you could go with one of these babies: The Cyclo Orbital Polisher:

The difference between the 7424 and the 7336 is the counterweight.

The UDM still isn't completely perfected yet. I've heard of a lot of problems with them. The Porter Cable has been around forever and it will get the job done without having to worry about hurting your paint. I've been using the same one for about 4 years and it is still kicking. It is also used almost everyday!

I agree. The Cyclo is one of the best built and most balanced machine out there as far as orbital polishers go. I use mine all of the time. Once you use one you will appreciate the lack of noise and vibration that you get with other machines.
