2000 Black Mustang
Hello all. I have a 2000 black mustang that I thought looked pretty good, but I had to paint a rear quarter panel - which looks great, but now my 8 year old black paint doesn't look too hot by comparison. There's also a couple of smallish scratches. I'm thinking of going all out with claybar, getting a Porter Cable and polishingandthen finishing with glaze and or wax. New to all this stuff so I'm not sure all that I need.
Condition of old paint includes some swirls and a hint of white haze (oxidation? not sure).
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I highly recommend getting a Porter Cable polisher. You can take your paint to a whole new level without worrying about hurting it. I have the Poorboys/Porter Cable kit which is really popular. This comes with the PC, backing plate, light cutting pad, polishing pad, finishing pad, Poorboys SSR2.5 medium swirl remover, and Poorboys SSR1 light swirl remover. Then I would use my Wet Glaze to add some wetness and depth and then top off with my Wet Wax for even more wetness and depth plus some protection.
With the paint being that old, I would say that it is oxidized pretty bad, the PC will make it look awesome again.
BTW- I give mustang forum members a discount on the PC and on products. Let me know if you have any questions, I will be glad to help!

I have a black Cobra that was in dire need of a buff. I had more swirls than a tye-dye t-shirt.
I bought the Poor Boys Porter Cable kit from www.obsessivedetail.com and was amazed at what it can do. I'll never mess with the store bought products ever again. Justin treated me very well and helped me along the way!
