Default RE: Cleaning your Engine

What I do is cover the air filter ( if needed) and the alternator. I spray some of meguairs all purpose cleaner, but you can use simple green or engine brite. Have the engine be warm but NOT hot this will help in releasing the "crap" thats in your engine compartment.Spray cleaner in the engine bay, let sit for 5-10 mins. I will quickly power spray with a hose. If its warm enough outside just keep the hood open and let it air dry. I will take a leaf blower and blow the water out.... its alot quicker. Never start the engine when its wet! You can then shine up the chrome/metal I use mothers aluminum polish ( works great for chrome). Then if you have any black plastic trim you can shine that up with wetnblack or some kind of tire shine.
