shorty headers
how to the bbk shorty equal length headers compare to other companies? i would get the ceramic coated, not the chrome so i could hopefully avoid rust. does anyone have the bbk shorty equal length headers? i have to get new headers b/c i am building a fox body stang and i don't have any yet.
BBK is a popular brand. If you havent ordered your h-pipe yet you may wanna invest in longtubes. You wont get much of a performance boost or sound boost with shorties, but if you do go with them, at least get the equal lenths like you mentioned. Next best thing to longtubes.
I DISAGREE. LIKE I'VE POSTED BEFORE YOU NEED CAM, HEADS AND INTAKE TO SEE THE FULL BENEFITS OF A LONG TUBE. WITHOUTTHEM YOU JUST LOST YOURSELF A BUNCH OF BOTTOM END TORQUE. </P>
THE EQUAL LENGTHS SHORTIES DON'T LOOSE TORQUE LIKE THE LONG TUBES BUT AGAIN YOU DON'T SEE THE FULL BENEFITS WITHOUT THE ABOVE MODS.</P>
YOU CAN PUT ON THE MOST FREE FLOWING CAI AND EXHAUST BUT YOUR HEADS CAN ONLY FLOW SO MUCH AIR WITHOUT IMPROVEMENTS!</P>

Thats not true. Do you know how longtubes work? Or why equal lenght shorties are better than unequal length shorties? Some people swawk all day long about losing torque with longtube headers... well the fact is anytime you lower backpressure you will lose low end torqe (very low end by the way). Torque doesn't win races. Torque is simply pressure applied to the ground, HP is the amount of work thattorque is actually doing. Who cares if you lose 1 ft lb of torque at 2k rpm, when you pick up 10 ft lbs of torque at 4k rpm and 15 more hp peak hp. </P>
Long tubes and equal lengh shorties work on the same principle, get the exhaust to travel the perfect distance away from the heads before they get to the collector, and to have equal length tubes so that the exhaust pulses all hit the collector all at different times, minimizing potential hp loss from two pulses trying to get through the collector at the same time.</P>
The point I am making is that you keep the shorties on your car all you want, but when you have other mods on your car too with those shorties and other mustangs with nothing but longtubes blow right by you, you'll be thinking of me.</P>

IF YOU DON'T HAVE TORQUE YOU GOTNOTHING. WHY DOYOU PUT GEARS IN YOUR CAR?TORQUE!!! HOW ABOUT A HONDA WITH 200HP AND 150 LB/FT. DO YOU EVEN WONDER WHY THEY'RESLOW. </P>

Listen, Torque is simply the force applied on a object, Hp is the amount of work actually being done. Listen, if your trying to break a bolt loose with a breaker bar, and your puttin 100 ft lbs of torque on the bolt and it still aint movin, you ain't gettin any work done (i.e. hp). We can go at this all day long if you want.</P>
Theoretically, if two identical cars with identical weight, gearing,and the same in every aspect other than power from the motor (not really possible but lets pretend it is). Car A has 200hp and 120 lbs of torque (obviousy high rpm car), and car B has 120 hp and 200 lbs of torque (obviously low rpm car) who do you think would be the faster car? If you say the car with more torque your wrong. </P>
Same scenario, Car A has 200 hp and 120 lbs of torque. Car B has 200 hp and 300 lbs of torque. Who wins? They both run the same speed. Why? Because they are both doing the same amount of work.</P>

Please don't post anymore mis-information. I don't have time to run around cleaning it all up while you steer people wrong. If you don't want longtubes, then suit yourself. Don't tell someone else to not get them for the wrong reasons.
