brush marks
recently i let my father borrow my car with the stipulation that if he gets it dirty (it was just detailed) he would rewash it for me the following day. well he brought it home and the next day i went out to go to work and i noticed all light marks more like straight lines imbedded all over the paint job, i asked him what had happened and he said that he ran through A puddle and washed the car at the carwash and used the faoming brush on it. now my question is how the H*ll do i get these marks out of my paint? Do i use a buffer and if so what products do i use? im not to good with a buffer but maybe with some of you guys' expert guidence we can get through this tragedy together.
any suggestions would be appreciated

Sorry to hear that man but they can be easily remove with the porter cable D/A polisher! Take a few hours of your time but well worth it on a black stang. Ask any of the sponsors that hang in here (or maybe they will chime in) and they can take care of you! I feel your pain but this is an easy fix....I did it on mine for other reasons and the Porter cable made it so easy (I used to detail all black cars by hand).
ya ive heard horror stories of people using d/a's on black cars and them coming out worse than when they started out but ya thank god its an easy fix what kind of polishes compuonds or whatnot do i have to use
I carry the PC along with some great polishes/swirl removers.Feel free to pm or send me an email if you have any questions.
The good thing about the PC is that you don't have to worry about hurting your paint and this is why it is so popular. You can be a beginner and get excellent results. It is also a very good investment. You always have the PC if you get any scratches or swirls, it also make putting on products so much quicker and easier.

Oh man what were you thinking [&:] If you are in the least bit **** about the detailing of your car, then lesson learned - never ask/require anybody else to wash it [8D]
Just talk to Justin and take what he says to the bank...very knowledgeable guy and he won't steer you wrong. You can be a begginer and get those brush marks out.....I can attest to that
The horror stories you've heard about using a d/a polisher and it coming out worse are most likely a result of using the chemicals wrong, not the machine. I'm proof of that too [8D] You have to work the polishes in slowly and until they are fully broken down.

Having a black car...you should own a Porter Cable already! I'll can testify to being unsatisfied with the finish on my black Cobra....until I got a PC kit from Juztang. It did amazing things for the appearance of the paint. After you finish buffing your car, you'll see the difference and feel embarassed that you ever drove around with your car looking like it did before!

OMG exactly. My car is black as well and it has seen a car wash maybe 5 times in its life, and that car was is a true hand wash place in like the middle of winter. Whenever it goes above freezing, my car gets washed.
THe PC polisher is supposed to be pretty good, I use a pneumatic one though simply because I have a monster of an air compressor at home and I got a good deal on it.
I use griots 3 step machine polish, however I never use the rougher polishes, just step 3 and the fine hand polish, it comes out very well.
