brush marks
Ok let me give you some advise first before you do this!!!! People think its easy to just take D/A or a polisher to a car but its not that simple and if your not careful youll burn through...
If you can take your fingernail over the scratches and you feel the ridge more than likely the scrathes are too deep.... if they cut just through the clear your ok... you can actually take some 400grit to the clear with some water take the majority of the scratch out... Dont push hard.
3M makes good compounds to use!!!! Use a dark compound with low grit with a polisher and a white pad... buff at medium speed and dont stay in one spot.. if the panel becomes warm to touch STOP!!!! 3M also makes this other stuff that is the MUST HAVE for especially black cars!!! Its a swirl remover, the compound is blue!!!! use this last!!! then wipe away with the cloth..... You want to do this in 3 stages!!! I just prefer 3M product
You should be able to get them all out this way if they arent bad! Dont do it often though!!!!!

By hand.
If you use a machine on black paint, you will seecircular rotations in the reflection. Machines are stronger than elbow grease (my elbow grease at least, I am a girl)as theytend to dig in and leave their marks.
I recently used a light rubbing compound by Mothers and then Mothers hardpast wax. It is yellow in a big round can. Cost about$16.
It will take time to do it right. You can't rush it. And it has to be done under shade.
