I bought mine at autogeek - its does not have the hole in the middle and its velcro backed so it applies easily to the backing plate. I use it for final buffing after removing wax.

jason do you have the 6 inch backing plate also or is there a wool pad that will fit on the 5 inch backing plate

Are you wanting to use this wool pad for paint correction? Really wool is designed to be used with a rotary polish. The PC doesn't have enough power for the wool pad to be used right on paint.

 

no what i was really planning on useing it for is to buff my headlights they have the cloudy look so i have wet sanded them and when i am using a polishing compund and scratch remover to try to clean them up instead of using my pads that i use on my car i figured i would try the wool pad

 

Instead of a wool pad I would get a small 4 inch foam pad. My Light Polish,SSR1, and Pro Polish all work great on headlights. I pretty sure you have a couple of those if I remember right?

 

after i wet sand i just use OD light polish on a 6.5 inch white pad and a 5 inch backing plate...clears 2k grit sanding scratches right up for me...sometimes it will haze, so i have to step up to ssr2.5 on a lc orange pad, then follow up with od LP on the white pad and it works every time


justin, where can i get some 4-5.5 inch pads and a smaller backing plate? i've been looking pretty hard everywhere for some and cant find any reasonably priced. i checked your site, but you dont have any for sale

 

Yeah I don't carry the 4 inch pads because they aren't really that popular, I hardly ever use mine.

I know detailers domain carries them. They are a sponsor on another forum that I also sponsor, I've always heard good things about them.
