justin what type of pad would work the best softer the better

I would get the kit to save some money. It really depends on how bad the scratches are. You might want to start out with the orange pad and then step down to the white or gray to finish it out.

I think I only have the backing plate and a couple of 4 inch pads left. I really need to hold onto it in case in need it one of these days!
