use a claybar. It will take the sap off without wearing down your clearcoat.

Right now I can't get my stang in our two car garage......it's full of business stuff. However this summer we plan on building another two door garage in the back.
The sad part is, I only have one tree (Live Oak) that sits in the middle of our front yard and it's young so the branches are not sprawling all over the place or near the driveway. Now behind our fence there are numerous Pine Trees. I know in the coming months pollen will start to fall and leave a yellowish residue on everything. So for now, I'll just have to be patient and keep the car cover on it at night and wipe it down good with the Meguiar's Detailing spray.
Piece of advice girl... And everyone else for that matter.
DO NOT have tree sap fall on a fresh paint job within 3 to 5 weeks!! It will be ruined.

I know your car is fine, but in the event of a fender bender (I do not wish it for you), what ever parts have fresh paint on it will not tolerate contaminants.
Be careful.

Thanks pascal, I will keep that in mind and tell anyone I know who has a fresh paint job.

Try Meguiars #6 cleaner wax 2 step does both and Meguars #34 final Inspection detailer. You can buy both at an automotive paint store. The final Inspection can be bought by the gallon. They come in tan bottles. Far superior to the mainline variety in the discount stores. Makes it 100% easier to get grime and materials off your paint. Use it and you'll be hooked forever.
I use #26 & #7 Meguair's wax products. Both are very good and does help keep the car's finish smooth which makes it easier for cleaning the sap off.
I don't let the sap sit on it for too long anyway.

I'll have to look for #6 & #34. I found mine at Pep Boys, but have learned that Auto Zone is starting to carry more of the Meguair's line.
