Default Polished Stainless Lip

Looking at new black wheels.

Would a polished stainless lip be longer lasting or easier to maintain than a chrome lip?

if you keep them clean, which it looks like you already keep your wheels/car clean then both should be about the same

do you live by a beach or drive your car in the salty winters? if so you might want to pass on the chrome because salt and humidity will make chrome peel, it happens faster with cheaper chrome

but if you don't live by a beach or drive your car in harsh winters just get whichever one you like better

Thanks Bill. Yes, I live on the coast. My brother put AR chrome rims on his jeep 6 months ago and they are already bumpy and stained. Corrosion?

I want an 18" gloss black rim with chrome/polished lip. My budget is $1600 for rims + tires. There are just too many choices! [8D]

Oh, and stang is spotless. It is the Subaru that needs work.

yep, i'd go for the polished then. you can always wax and seal the polished wheels. most of them come clear coated anyhow.

how much $$ for wet sanding?
