So I cheaped out this year and didn't put my beater on the road and didn't change the wheels. I thought if I washed them enough, it wouldn't matter that much. Long story short I was wrong. They are black powder coated with the silver outside. If I get some paint stripper aned take off the powder coating, does anybody have any idea what they will look like underneath? Is it a good idea to try this?

 

you will probly have to sand them down because powercoat is baked into the metal

 

You can have them sand blasted, I know there is some other whacky ways to remove powder coating.

 

i just started sanding my alloys down. there's a lot of work needed for a proper job, i messed up really as i had new tyres all round the other week. my advice would be to get someone to do it for you if you can afford it.
