Default Removing clearcoat

for some reason about 50% of the clear coat on my front bumper has fallen off. The rest is slowly peeling away and it looks absolutely horrid. Any way of removing the clearcoat without damaging the paint too much? I just want a temporary fix since I can't afford to get my bumper repainted right now .

Not really, you can carfully sand off the clearcoat but then the paint will be scratched and without clear it won't shine. You would be best just to leave it untill you can afford to repaint it

yeah that's been my plan so far, but you wouldn't believe the level of uglyness the bumper has reached, it's embarrasing. I was just wondering if i could remove the current clear coat and then apply one of those spray can clear coats, but I guess not.
