Haze after waxing
ORIGINAL: Riptide
My car already has a ton of swirl marks etc.. I can't afford the porter cable and I have other priorities at the moment so a polish isn't gonna happen. Right now I just live with the imperfections. Hence why I didn't do anything but wash, clay, and then straight to wax by hand.
As for the duster eventually I'll be getting the PC tool (probably next year) and will do a real thorough job on the finish. If I notice scratches coming in from it after that then I might consider alternatives. The issue is, how else are you supposed to keep a black car from getting dust on it short of washing it on a daily basis? Screw that.

one way to prevent fine scratches and swirls is use the 2 bucket method. 1 rinse bucket, and one wash bucket
Using a good polish by hand will probably not remove your swirls, but I bet it will take care of the haze. Basically you need to polish until you get the finish you are after (haze free), because applying wax is only going to act as a protectant on top of the finish you create.
I have had good success with Meguires Show Car Glaze (not sure of the exact name or product number off hand), but its is their pro line in the beige bottle that is sold OTC. It is a polish that should help with the hazing, even though it says Glaze in the name.
I'm sure Justin has some good polishes that will also work by hand.

if you didnt wash the car after you clayed it that can leave some haze from the quick detailer getting left behind. i had haze really bad after i clayed, so i washed and then waxed and its perfect
