claying and polishing
i have no experience detailing cars, whatsoever. none at all
its always been wash and dry for me
now i have a few questions:
whats the purpose of polishing? just to take swirls and scratches out?
would it be necessary to clay and then polish, or vice versa?
is doing only one of the above fine?
and i'm guessing after claying and/or polishing, i should finish it off with a layer of wax?
how is this product btw?

Clay then polish then wax.I would do both.
Polish will take out some swirls or decrease the amount you have. It kinda refreshes the paint.
Not really sure how the mothers paint ball works. I have no experience with it.
polishing is for moving your clear coat around and making it brighter, taking out swirls, and very fine scratches. and yes .. wash, clay, polish, wax. if it needs it. if your paint isn't dull just clay it and wax it. have fun.

just becareful when polishing cause youll burn you clear coat right off. they also make different grades of clay as well as differnt grades of polishing wheels.

I have used the Mequiers clay kit and it has done a great job. I used it on mu '07 GT/CS (Vista Blue) then on a '05 Audi (red) and an '01 Yukon XL (Black) let me say I would highly recomend it for any car that you want a great look on. I did follow the clay with the Wax Cleaner and then Mequiers NXT 2.0. I can not believe how the cars shine...better then new! I had someone stop by & ask if I had a new Yukon as with the Black you can see yourself like a mirror.
I did get a Mothers Ball and it is ok, my intention was for the rims on the stang but I have also used it on the car, with the ease of removing the Mequiers product I do not think it is necesary.
Good Luck & have a Blast.....
