Default RE: Best Engine Cleaning Approach?

I layed a plastic sheet over the driveway to catch everything, then parked on top of it. Bagged off all the electrical connections, alt, battery, carb, dizzy, etc. Sprayed some generic engine degreaser everywhere that needed it and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. To rinse it off, I used one of these filled with plain warm water to rinse everything off- it provides a nice direct spray and doesn't get water everywhere. Dry off the puddles when done, then sprayed everything with CD-2 Engine Detailer and it looked quite nice.
