Default Tree sap (I think) from spring

Hi there all ..

I've seen a lot of post about getting rid of baked on and hardened tar using clay bars or taking your car to a good detailer. Wondering if anyone has had an issue with baked on hardened tree sap (this is what it looks like) my next door neighbor has a big old cotton wood tree and an oak tree and I am kicking myself now for leaving my 91 GT out of the garage while I worked on my 91 325i ... i didnt notice till it was to late but there are hundreds of black/brown goopy drizzles all over the car and its gone as solid as rock .. I've tried everything I know of to get it off, guy at shuacks sold me some tuertle wax goop off and that didnt even leave a dent in this stuff .. I used some Goof Off pasically smells like paint thiner to me, claims to work on paint to get anything off .. it gets it off my glass with some super scrubbing but I tried in a very small spot on the right fender and after a while it removed "most" of it but I can see the paint it now dull (the size of a penny) where I did it ... you have to get on an angle but it did damage the paint ... also left a mound of this stuff there, again its hard to see but if you run your finger over the spot you can feel the mount of tree sap still there ....

sooooooo .... has anyone had an issue like this ... yes i know I should not have left my car there to get in this situation in the first place so stating the obvious is all well and good :-P I'm putting the car in the BCC northwest carshow (just for fun) and would like it to look half presentable ... with this goop all over my car I just cant turn up like that ..

cheers all

Tarminator. We've got pine trees all around our driveway, sap is a constant problem for me. Spray on some tarminator, let it sit, it takes off even the brown baked on bubbles.

Thanks very much ... sorry every one I just saw another thread on Tree Sap .. I thought I'd gone through posts but missed that one ... looks like Tarminator is used by other as well ... and goof off is used too .. I've got some wax still on the car so thats more than likely why the spot I cleaned looks a little dull ... so I'll Tarminate the car, then goof off what doesnt budge then clay bar the whole car to get the wax off and then wax if before the round up ..

cheers all again ..
