Buffing experts...need some help!
I picked my new 08 Pony up almost two weeks ago now. I finally got around to hand waxing it and I noticed three areas where the car appeared to be gunned down by pigeons!
I ran it back over to the dealer and after 10 mins, they told me I was GTG and have a great day. That night, I walked out int he garage and the problem is even more evident. They just used some polishing compound (I saw them do it) and now I have bird marks with swirls on top.
Basically...you can see where bird poo was...sort of the irregular perimeter in about 4-5 spots...all on the trunk lid and spoiler.
I called them again this weekend and ran into the dealer's manager at church. He said to bring it in Monday and they would have one of their detailing whizzes buff it out.
Is there anything I need to ask them to do...or just let the guy go at it? I am not WAY concerned because worse case I will get the trunk lid and spoiler sprayed...so I am not going to blow a gasket...but it is very obvious at night. In the daytime it is actually hard to find even if you know where to look.
Any advice?

my advice would be to not take it to the dealership because their "detailing whizz" is just going to mess it up even more. dealerships and paint just do not mix.
since you just bought a new car and you obviously care about the paint. a porter cable polisher and accessories would be a great investment. there's a local site sponsor that can give you a relatively good deal. i'll let him chime in. i personally, have one and it's a great tool. it will make your bird bomb etching history.
even if you don't buy one, just dont take it back to the dealership, lol.

Actually they are sending me to the detailing shop across the street. The shop does all their new car prep for them...and in these guys defense, it is hard to see in daylight.
At night...or under low light it stands lout like a sore thumb.
A buffer is an upcoming purchase though for sure.
Is there a "Buffing for Dummies" or something to get a start?

They sent me over to a body shop guy. This guy had four geogeous Vettes in the back of his shop...and they looked amazing...so no doubt he likes cars.
He started on the spots with 3000 grit wet paper. Once he did that, the spots stood out like sore thumbs. I was a bit concerned at that time!
He then started buffing with bottles of 3M stuff...three different grades (dont know the numbers). He then finished with a bottle of 3M stuff that was black.
My goodness...never seen anything quite so brilliant in my life. Absolutely perfect. He then killed the lights and inspected with some kind of multicolor wand. 100% perfect!
