Default Question about 2007 Convertible top

Hi there,

I just bought a used 2007 Mustang Convertible. Appears to be just the base model, nothing fancy....yet.
I was trying to figure out the material the convertible top was made out of so I could buy the right cleaner and protectant.
Can anyone help me figure out what the top is made of?
The salesman knew nothing.

Thank you

Stephanie

your top is made of vinyl. i think the only mustangs with cloth tops were the cobras. a great product to look into is called raggtop. it is a kit that comes with a bottle of cleaner and a bottle of protectant. im pretty sure you can only pick it up online though. i have also heard good reviews about aerospace303 vinyl protectant, but have never gotten around to trying it. good luck with keeping it clean, and make sure you post some pics of your new toy....

The base model is vinyl, but the cloth top is an option on the newer stangs. I use Mothers Protectant on the vinly top of my 2005. See also www.autogeek.net.
