Default Possible Paint Job

I washed and waxed my black 2004 Mustang today and noticed a ton of chips on the front of the hood along with one tiny chip that has started to rust on the top of the vehicle. How much would I be looking at to have the hood re-painted (black of course)? Also, how much to take care of the chip on the top that has started to rust? I haven't done any body work on a vehicle in 15 years and don't have the tools or a shop that I could do it at myself, so this will be a job for a pro. I'm going to get some quotes for the work on Monday/Tuesday of next week, but I'm curious as to how much these repairswould cost me. Anyone have any ideas?

I submitted my last post before I finished it. Anyway, with the chips on the hood just being on the front part, is it possible to have just that part refinished? Or would the whole hood have to be repainted?

Generally... when I was doing autobody we could take a black car and get it a close match so you really couldn't see it was painted if the customer didn't want it blended. More than likely you'll want to do the whole hood unless it's a centralized area that the chips are in then it can be blended. For just your hood and a good job, I would say 500-600 depending on if they have to blend into your fenders and the quality of work the shop does. Hope this helps. PM me or reply here if you have any other questions.
A way to fix it for cheap and make it look ehhh descent is to take a tooth pick and some touch up paint and get just a little paint on the tip and put the tip of it into the chip, make sure you don't overfill the chip or it makes it more noticeable. You might want to try that first and see how it turns out?!
