Default Quick detailer between washes?

Is it OK to spray and wipe down my hood and the roof of the car with some quick detailer in between washes as long as I run the california duster over the surfaces first to get most of the dust off?

Sure, just make sure you constantly use a clean side of the towel

That's what I do, no problems here.

How can you tell if you are using to much detailer? I'm wondering if that might be an issue. Sometimes I seem to get a milky white kind of haze showing up in the sunlight after I apply detailer to the car.

How much should one "squirt" from the bottle cover? A 2'x2' section?

It sounds like if you hare getting a haze you are using too much. You really only need to use a fine mist and then wipe it off with a microfiber towel.

It's hard to avoid getting more than a fine haze in the center of where you spray. How far away from the panel should I be holding the sprayer?

Sorry for all the stupid questions.

What kind of quick detailer did you get? I have Meguiars ultimate quick detailer and the spray nozzle shoots the stuff out very fine...

Just spray from far enough to get a decent, fine wide coverage

If you're doing it in the sun, that may be contributing to it, if it's in the sun the panels will heat up and dry the detailer prematurely causing the hazy streaks.

Speaking of hot panels........another option is to spray the microfiber towel with quick detailer and then wipe the paint when the panels are hot. This works pretty well too.
