Quick detailer between washes?
I use ObsessiveDetails quick detailer and so far it's the only quick detailer I've used that doesn't streak when it's retarded hot out.
I have to use a heavy amount when it's 80+ in the sun baking my black car, but I don't have any streaking problems. I always use a heavy amount of QD anyway since my pig is black and even the finest of swirls/scratches show up if you even breathe on the paint.

My car is in the garage and fairly cool but as hot as it is outside right now (90+) it gets pretty stuffy in there. Keeps that car warm enough that if I don't be quick about wiping the detailer off it will still streak.
I detailed the hood and roof of the car last night and it seemed to come out looking pretty good. I'll check it out again tonight and see if any streaks showed up. If not then looks like I did it right this time.
As a side note I'm impressed with how nice meguiar's nxt 2.0 looks on the car. Best thing I've done for the finish so far. Next year porter cable is on my short list - need to do something about these scratches!

I hold the bottle up pretty high when im doing the roof, it requiers less sprays and you get a more even coat as for doors and other pannels, i apply like im painting the car, in a sweeping motion at a foot away.
I am about to start using the quick detailer as well after I waxed it with nxt... I figure if I dust if off with the california duster I should be ok...
I wouldn't micromanage the process so much if I was you... 2x2, 4x4.... I don't think it's going to matter much, lol, especially on a production car's paint job like ours

I'm not sure you can use "too much" QD. It really just works as a lube and shouldn't leave any residue behind at all. Make sure it is not drying on the paint, I suppose that could cause the hazing.
i would be very careful doing it in the sun, it can heat up your paint really fast and the microfiber towels can still scratch your car VERY easily when your paint is that hot...thats why it is highly recommended to do it in the shade when the car is cool, just be careful
