Default Tree Sap

There was a storm last night and when I woke up this morning I had huge spots on my car that turned out to be tree sap. What is the best way to remove this? I tried this morning but the car was cool so the sap just became sticky when i sprayed it with detailer and tried to wipe it off. Should I get it off before it gets hot? I figured once the car heats up it will come off easier but I also don't want the sap sitting there damaging my paint.

i have 2 pine trees that overhang my drive way. get it off when it's soft. cleaner wax and a microfiber works awesome for this. coincidentally, it's the only thing i've found cleaner wax to be good for.

I mainly use Stoner Tarminator to remove tree sap. It softens it up and it wipes off with ease.
