Default OXIDIZED PAINT...wet obsession or regular stuff?

hey everyone. i recently bought a 1991 mustang thats been sitting around outside since 2004 the paint overall is about 80% alright but certain spots, like the truck lid are hit heavy by oxidation. should i goto autozone and find something over the counter? ive recently seen alot of everyones car using wet obsession, and they really come out nice.
i would just lke to know which one you would recommend? wet obsession or over the counter(if so wich one)
thanks
sorry for the bad pics

i believe you need to use a polish or something similar to fix the oxidation. Wet Obsession is a wax. Can't really tell from the pics, but if the oxidation isn't too severe then an over the counter polish can fix it. Then you can finish off with wet obsession.

I would go with a polish to clean the paint, bring back shine and reflection, correct light swirls, and to prep the paint for the wax. Then you can top with the Wet Obsession. For a good polish that you can use by hand you can't go wrong with OD Light Polish or Optimum Polish.

Read my thread from two weeks ago. You're going to need an orbital and a little more than just a light polish IMO. I used Optimum Compound and Optimum Polish with various pads and the Porter Cable. Many MANY hours and FIVE steps later the paint was lusterous agian! All that was left then was a good coat of wax.

If your aren't looking for a show quality like I was, then at the very least I think one step of compound, one step of polish followed by a wax will do you wonders.
