Default Wheel Problems

My Shelby redlines have a what I thought was a clear coated brushed lip. Well, my brakes put off a lot of dust and I can't keep them clean everyday so it sits a while. I've noticed that I have like brown marks now on the lips of my wheels and water spot marks. I've tried tar remover and polish with no luck. Am I SOL or will clay bar work? I don't have any clay yet so would have to buy it. Is there anything I can do to save these?

Tried Ford Metal cleaner and it worked pretty good but not all of it. Do I need something stronger? If so, whats recommended.

I just answered you pm bud. I would give the Metal Rx a try or the new Optimum Metal Polish. They are very similar on how well they work.

A great wheel cleaner is by P21.

I'd apply it, let it soak for a couple of hours, and power-wash the remains off thoroughly. Then, apply a Aluminum wheel/Chrome polish(depending on the finish) and it should work.

Good luck man.

Thanks, but will that stuff actually work for stuck on spots? This just isn't a dirty wheel, it seems like it wants to stay. I think I would just need a strong safe metal cleaner and polish. Is that what your stuff is Juztang?

First off, what finish are your rims?

You cannot just use any metal polish. It may/may not eat the finish.
