I just got a new microfiber towel today and was wondering if getting the California blade would be a good idea. I was thinking using the California Blade to get all the standing water off then finish with the microfiber towel? Is this a good idea. Does anyone have the California Blade and if so I would like to hear what you think about it. Thanks!

 

I do that exact thing, I got my water blade from autozone, thing is amazing my friend came in and bought one today after using mine. Work like a charm. I use that and the Zwipes Micro Fiber Drying towel it's like 3ft x 3ft waffle pattern works great to get up anything you can't get with the blade. The Blades like 20 bux well worth it go get one.

p.s. my car is black too no scratches from it yet it's very soft.

 

i just use a windshield wiper to get off most of the water, than i use my micro fiber

I second that notion, Water Blade is Awesome. Does wonders on black cars.

 

Unless you want swirl marks or scratches in your clear coat, I wouldn't let any of those products come near my car.

Dust falls all day, so when your putting the hose away and the water is standing still on your car for a couple minutes and you go wipe it down with that blade, you're going to scratch your car. You'll see the nasty swirl marks appear.

I use a small leaf blower. Not a swirlmark to be found on my car.

 

How small of a leaf blower are you talking about?

 

isn't that the same idea of just driving fast, you don't get crazy water spots?

 

I always remove the sprayer from my hose and give the car a good rinse with an open stream as my final step before I start the drying process. You will be amazed how this helps eliminate those little beads of water if you have a good coat of wax on your car. I then use a clean (note clean) California Blade to pull the excess water off the roof, hood, trunk and windshields. I then recommend the Big Blue Towel II for the remaining water. It is an amazing microfiber product that easily finishes drying my car in less than five minutes. If I have the time I use Pinnacle Crystal Mist and a microfiber polishing cloth to finish the job. When I a done, my car looks like it did on the showroom floor the day I picked it up.

 

I used that mister clean auto dry thingy today and it did an awesome job on my stang.
