Turtle Wax
I have an 01 Black GT and when I bought it the moron that owned it before me didnt know how to take care of a car. I have some pretty bad swirls all over the car and was wondering if Turle wax will do the job at getting most of the swirls out. If not what would you recommend? The reason I am asking about turtle wax is because my dad has some sitting in the garage. If you guys think turtle wax is good then I will use it but if not I would be more than happy to go pick something new up. Let me know what you think. And sorry im sure this has been asked before. Thanks!
Ya I have heard that stuff works great. I just used turtle wax on my car and it worked really well, it could use a few more coats cause of how bad the condition of the paint was. But I will try some of that scratch remover also. Thanks.
I fthe paint has been neglected for along time you will need to use some sort of cleaner/polish/wax 3 step process. Meguiers sells a system made just for this type of thing, check Pep Boys or you local body shop supply store they should have it. Also you may want to look into using a clay bar on the car.
I am planning on going to pep boys today actually to pick up some detailing supplies. I will check out the 3 step process thing because that sounds like something I wouldnt mind doing. Thanks.
I am partial to Pinnacle Souveran Paste wax. It was designed for black and red cars and is the easiest wax to apply I have ever used. I was a Zymol fan but it is a much more difficult wax to buff off. You never let the Pinnacle dry. You can wipe it on with one hand and off with the other. It leaves the deepest richest shine I have ever seen on my black Mustang. It is a bit pricey. Here is the link if you are interested.
