Default Streaks after clay/wax

I have a Satin Silver stang - today I clayed using meguiar's kit (first time) and waxed using Meguiar's NXT 2.0.

After waxing, I noticed some faint whitish "streaks" on the driver door and front fender. I had applied a light coat of wax as recommended but it only streaked in this area. I tried waxing over the area again with Meguiar's Cleaner/Wax but they do not come off - I can only see them in certain light.

Anyone know what may have caused these streaks and what I can try to use to remove them? I can feel them very slightly when I rub my hand on them.

Thanks for any help!

Try wiping it down with detail spray.

Thank you for the help - I'll definitely pick some up and try that.

I tried Meguair's detailing spray - it did not work.

Any other suggestions? Thanks!

My initial thought is product build up. The white could be a chemical reaction between products or clay that has been left behind. The scratchX is a polish and should have removed it. Do you have any cleaner wax in the garage? Try that next. Could also try washing with Dawn dishwashing liquid.

Thank you again! What about rubbing compound if those don't work? I can't believe this is so difficult (and frustrating...) Also thought of alcohol/water mix.

Compound is gonna take a layer of clear coat with it. Only if all else fails.

Did you try claying the spot again? Use detail spray to lube.

Thank you Margarita Girl - Yes I thought of compound as a last solution but some some today at autozone (from 3M I think) that said it was "safe for clear coat". Not sure whatthat means. I think I will try claying again with the detail spray as you suggested - I really appreciate your feedback.

Zippo - thanks for the input also. Not sure what caused it but Margarita Girl's explanation makes sense.

I'll post back after claying again.

You all are great!!

Any other suggestions still appreciated.
