Default Vista Blue paint

I have a Vista Blue Stang and plenty of light lines or very light scratches on the paint job.
They were there from the dealer and I may have added some. They brother the heck out of me, especially when other people notice.
So I was looking at getting the porter cable polisher and taking care of the problem myself.
But the more I read the more people on the blogs would say you will ruin your paint job and that of course will be more expensive.

I have applied a mild polisher by hand and it did not help much.
So a couple of questions for the all knowing crowd on MF.
With a Vista Blue paint job, what have you guys used to get the paint looking beautiful?
Has anyone used the Porter and gotten great results from their efforts?

Thanks for any info …….

I have an '07 VB GT/CS and as a Mequiers lover I use thier Scratch X then the Clay Bar and finish up with the Tech 2.0 and let me tell you it really brings out the shine and helps with the covering the scratches. I have never used anything on my car except hand rubbing - I stay away from anything motorizes on my cars.

Good Luck

That information was completely untrue. The reason that the Porter Cable polisher is so popular is because you can be a beginner and get excellent results. It is almost impossible to hurt your paint with a PC, you would have to leave it on the same spot for around a minute or so. Now a circular polisher can damage your paint pretty easy if you don't know what you are doing. A circular polisher actually spins in a circle which generates a lot of heat. The Porter Cable polisher is an orbital which spins in an oval motion, this doesn't hardly generate any heat.

With a machine polisher you can take your paint to a whole new level, you can't get these kind of results by hand. The prep work is what makes your paint look its best. I would start out claybarring the whole car to take out all of the embedded contaminants. Next, you want to use a polisher to remove swirls and scratches. After this step some people use a glaze to add some extra wetness and depth. Lastly, you want to put on a wax or sealant or both, this is basically personal preference.

Hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions.
