info for wax removal ?
A lot of old school guys I know swear by 100% cotton t-shirts, but IMO nothing beats a high quality micro-fiber towel. Personally, I would clay the car, and get some sort of light polish before waxing it. It sounds like you don't have a buffer, so I'd recommend getting your hands on Poorboys SSR1, I really like the results you get by hand. I'd recommend Meguiars NXT 2.0, it's technically a sealant, but the end result is amazing. Also, I'd take your wheels off, and wax/seal everything, it'll make a barrier against break dust and make cleaning them so much less of a pita.

i might not be understanding you question, but if you just want to strip off the old wax, so that you can then re-wax the car with a better wax,
i would use just wash the car as normal with Dawn Ultra, it will remove all the wax, make sure you get all the soap off the car, i normally use a good steady stream of water(not to hard but you want it moving)
then i wash the car 2 or 3 times with normal auto wash with a good dry in between (not with a leaf blower for this treatment use some good old towels).
then i clay bar it and finally i put on a good coat of wax, normally 2 or 3 coats.
Yes its a lot of work, but i only do this twice a year, not counting the times i do this before a car show. Once in the spring to get rid of all the junk from driving in the winters and once in the fall to protect the car in the winter.
now before someone gets too mad, and screams about using dawn, here is a link from Zaino and they do know a few things about prepping cars for shows.

Washing the car more than twice is insane. If you're looking to remove old wax, just get degreaser, dilute it 4:1 with water, and mist it onto the paint, than wash with dawn, there will be no wax left.
