Bird Poop
I have several bird poop spots on my Black paint that were on there when I bought the car. It sat outside on the dealers lot for about a month before I bought it and was probably never washed during that time. These spots are pretty nasty and won't wax out. How can I remove them???
bird poop is pretty acidic, and from what i understand if it is left on paint for too long it will start eating through the clear and leave the spots you see. you could try a decent polish. i dont think they will really polish out though. i know just waxing over it isnt going to take it out.
As Ryan mentioned, wax isn't going to get rid of bird poop etching. At best, a cleaning wax only "preps" the surface for itself. Wax doesn't correct paint imperfections.
Depending upon the damage, you might be able to correct the problem with a proper cleaning polish. I've used a Porter Cable 7424 and either Meguiars #80 or #83 to get rid of bird poop etchings on numerous occasions. If you're not comfortable doing this yourself, a detail shop can do it if the damage hasn't cut through all the clearcoat.

As eddypython mentioned it would possibly help with some of the residue. However you'll likely still need to polish, as the crap will have etched itself into the clearcoat.
FWIW, blot the crap up with a microfiber and some instant detailer (or water). Then wash the car good. Avoid rubbing the spot while cleaning it, hence the blotting. Some birds will eat small rocks as roughage, to help clean their digestive system. If that bird had done that, rubbing would be like taking sandpaper to your finish.

Try least-aggressive first.
The problem is that bird droppings can damage like hard water or acid rain spots -- they can eat so far into the clearcoat that to remove them you end up damaging the clearcoat and it looks worse than it did originally.
Claying is a great idea if the car sat out -- do the whole car. But it probably won't do much for the etching.
A good cleaner wax like Mothers Carnauba Cleaner Wax can do a surprising amount of polishing, but you'd need several light applications over the area in varying directions. Inspect every 30 seconds or so for any progress.
If necessary, you can try a good Scratch Remover (I have used and like the Mothers). Again work lightly and in varying directions repetitively for 20-30 seconds at a time and inspect the progress.
You should be able to make some improvement.
Feel free to post pics if you need additional advice.
