Default Single Stage Urethane?

dont wanna make this into a discussion about basecoat/clearcoat vs Single stage urethane, just wanna know if anyone out there has a car sprayed in SS Urethane and if there are any detailing things to note when taking care of a car sprayed with it. color will be black.

as far as i know its easier to buff. It will stain your pads since their is no clear coat

Sorry to revive a older post but I have a friend who has been using SS for a while because he dident want to fool around with 2 stage and he was complaining about horrible orange peel sags and runs. Well we both work at O'Reilly Auto Parts and we have a body shop behind our store who is on of our commercial accounts and the owner is a very nice guy and we talk to him all the time when he comes in and have gone over to his shop many times to just BS on our way out at night and one day we all ended up talking about SS VS base/clear and he said that base/clear is much much easier to get to come out good and SS is best used for small repairs or spraying a fender or something like that rather than spraying an entire car, the amount of time you will spend on finishing work after using SS is not worth the difference in cost.

yea, i ended up getting a quart of single stage black from eastwood paint, loved the way it turned out (i sprayed it on some spare boards i had layin around), but every day i keep gettin more aggravated with the black paint on my car, so i figure why bother wasting the cash on a single stage black paint job (even tho i could do my whole car for about 100$) and i think im gunna try and see if i can find an affordable (read: not cheap but not expensive) brand of Sonic Blue. i'd love some PPG, but that **** is EXPENSIVE.

at the very least, im gettin some experience sprayin that SS urethane.. might even use it on my windshield wipers and various other parts.

on top of the fact that i wanna spray my car sonice blue now, but im thinkin about making some fiberglass copies of cobra skirts if i can find someone willing to lend me thiers to use as a plug. and im lookin at throwing on some other body parts too, so i have to wait on paint until i get all the parts i feel i'll want (cobra skirts, 03 cobra spoiler, cobra bumpers)
