Default Fading after vinyls

I'm planning on ordering the classic stripes to go on my mustang but I only have one concern. Has anyone experienced fading after taking off their stripes? I'm afraid of the color contrast after removal. Are there ways to prevent it? I heard waxing and putting a clear coat on them are big DON'Ts. How long does it take to fade if kept in a garage or under a car cover? Sorry for the massive amounts of questions, any help is appreciated. Thanks for your time.

It all depends on how you maintain your car. if you keep the paint polished and wax then there shouldn't be a contrast when you remove the vinyl stripes. What i would do is clay and make the area perfect by polishing that way you are going to put the stripes on a good clean area. Yes its true not to put wax on those kind of stripes. but keep the surrounding area of the stripes waxed to prevent sun fade. anything else?
