Default Question About Vinyl Stripes

Do I need to do anything different care wise with vinyl stripes? I have never had any on a car before and want to make sure I do not mess them up. Can I wax them just like the rest of the car? If it helps I will only use Zaino products. I tried to find any warnings on the bottle and their website without any luck. I know it is a silly thread, but I figured you guys and girls would know. Thanks.

gloss/painted vinyl can be waxed. Others like flat (matte) black can't. But don't use the gritty cleaning wax on them. As far as care, cleaning I'm sure someone else here is better qualified to answer that.

Just noticed your pics..Looks good.

np...but I should also say that you should read the info on the wax(es) you like to use as some particular ones will tell you to not use on vinyl.

Had vynal stripes put on my car last week and they gave me instructions on thier care. They say no waxes with petroleum distillates, but all of the waxes I,ve looked at so far either have them or don't have any any listing at all. Anyone know what a safe wax would be??

Yeah don't use wax on them. I have had mine for a few years and the ones on the hood are looking terrible. You can see swirls and they always look dirty. I use to wax them all the time. If you use quick detail wax try and stay away from them as well. When I run my fiber towel over it with wax it comes up black always ( i believe it acts as a corrosive and tears away from the vinyl)

When you wash the car, be gentl when you run over them, dont rub hard, and only do a few passes as this will help them from peeling in the future.
