Exclamation buffing marks?? helpp

So I buffed my car out 2 days ago sealed it and waxed it I washed my car a couple of times and now I see what looks to be buffing marks from the compound or something idk. I just bought a porter cable and was wondering if I should polish it to get that out. Seemed really fast for the marks and everything to come up so fast am I doing something wrong. Thanks guys

You gotta be real careful with the Porter Cable. What speed did you have it on and what kind of pad?

You will probably have to do that part of the car again but either with a finer compound or swirl remover. You need to wash your pads off real good. Do you use microfiber bonnets? Is so wash them too. My wife does them in the clothes washer for me.

Less is always more with wheeling a car out. Plus it takes VERY LITTLE compound to do its job.

3M has a swirl remover that is Fantastic. I too have a Porter Cable (2 actually) and they are awesome.

Couple things I learned:
You need High Quality Pads (Microfiber or Wool)
Your pads have to be clean!
Light hands and a light touch is all you need!
If the pad or vehicle gets really warm to the touch that is BAD.
When it comes to compounds a little dab will do ya!

well im not new to this i was actually using mothers powerball for paint. I also used meguairs 105 compound and 205 for polishing. I JUST bought the porter cable with a cutting pad, a polishing pad, and a finshing pad with a flexible backing plate which i purchased from obsessive detail( they are great ). Will the polishing take out scracthes or do i need to compound the scracthes. Also i know about the speeds medium to high with compound and low speed when polishing. Ive heard great things about the porter cable and im looking foward to using it haha.

Are the swirls in the paint or the wax/polish? If it is not in the clearcoat/paint I would just use a cleaning wax and see if that takes it out. And Yes, the Porter Cable will help with that. The Mother Power Ball for Paint is good for those areas that the Porter Cable can't get into. But it is rotary and NOT random orbit so you can do some real damage with them if you not really careful.

If the cleaner wax doesn't cut it, then go down to the next grade like a swirl remover. I think they are like 1800 Grit.

The Porter Cable works miracles!

If you can drag a finger through the swirls and see that they get smudged or go away then it is just in the polish. If you can rub pretty hard with the finger and they don't go away then you might need something a little stronger than the Cleaner Wax. But I would start with this:

I have always had really good luck with the regular Meguiar's. I think they are a little more forgiving if your learning.

For more serious stuff I have always used the 3M stuff. A buddy of mine does painting on boats (like incredible race boat paint jobs) and he turned me on to the 3M. I also use it on my boat.

I am sure the Meguiar's Pro stuff is just as good. I just have never used it before.

I thought on the PC it was 5-6 for compounds and 4-5 for polishing. Sounds like you need to polish a little more.
