Default Squirrels Living in Engine Bay!

So its been a rather cold/snowy winter here in Mass. Today was nice and alot of snow has melted so I decided to start my stang up after its been sitting in the driveway with a car cover on it for a few weeks and take it for a ride to the store real quik to get the parts moving... Well I open the engine bay just to see how the engine looked and I notice what i'm guessing is Squirrel droppings (shyt) all on top of the engine/intake manifold..just EWW I then notice bread peices inside my ViS Carbon Fiber Cowl tray as well. Well, after shyting myself I immediatly washed the engine out and got all the shyt off. I dont know how long its been like that but it was bad! I didnt even take time to take pics of it because I was flippin out and cleaned it real quik!!! Guess I did my engine cleaning earlier this year... Anyone ever have rodents living in their engine bay????

I have had problems with mice in the past. On my old 83 they got in the heater ducts and pissed in them. Let me tell you when I turned on the heat that smell was unbearable. Had to rip it all apart and scrub out all the parts. For some reason they like the air box on my company truck.

Ya I was worried that they may have eating through a wire or suttin but everything ran fine when I started up the engine after cleaning it. I missed a poop pellet after cleaning it cause when the engine heated up I smelled shyt and I saw the single pellet starting to melt on top of one of the vavle covers. ew.

You have to keep a eye on it now. Seems to me rodents are creatures of habit. If they like living in your engine bay they will keep going in there.

I had a neighbor's cat that went in there to get warm on cold nights, years ago in PA. I don't know how it was sitting, but the fan sliced the cat..... it was hurt, but not fatal. Right shoulder was bleeding. Was running around again in a few days. I'd beep the horn before I started her up there after.

Only thing I've ever had was mice in my engine bay and interior when I had my 5.0 sitting in storage. I'm so happy they didn't decide to chew up my wiring harness.

My buddy has an RV and spreads out a package of Bounce dryer sheets inside his camper in the fall. I guess mice etc can't stand the smell so they stay away. He's been doing this for a long time and no rodents, so I guess it works.
